PRE-HURRICANE SEASON CONFERENCE 2021
Hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30 in the Atlantic and in the eastern Pacific from May 15 to November 30. The International Federation Regional Office for the Americas annually organizes a pre-hurricane season preparedness conference to support effective hurricane preparedness for the Movement and its partners in the Americas region.
This year, the Conference will take place from June 23 to 25 and will be held virtually given the current global pandemic of COVID-19. The focus of the 2021 Conference will be a review of lessons learned over the past year while responding to emergencies within the constraints imposed by the pandemic and the need to localize operations. The conference seeks among other things to reflect on the lessons learned in 2020 and collectively address some of the most pressing preparedness and response issues that the movement could face in 2021.
